Podcast Finalist
The Green Jumper podcast, produced and presented by Marcus, has reached the final of the UK Independent Podcast Awards 2026. The pod has been shortlisted in the Best Sports Podcast category.
"This is fantastic news and great national recognition - even just to reach the final," said Marcus. "A big thank you to the thousands of listeners around the world and - of course - to the brilliant guests who help to make each episode entertaining and informative."
The popular podcast is a tribute to the legendary football manager Brian Clough. The award entry included a special episode about Clough's 'Picasso of our game' John Robertson, who passed away on Christmas Day 2025.
The awards recognise podcasts which are free from corporate ties, including those by solo creators. The finals will be held in London in November.
Last year, the podcast was Highly Commended, with judges praising its stories and the research behind each episode. The Green Jumper has listeners in more than 100 countries.

Judges comments included: "This is a super unique podcast - the fact that the host is still uncovering new stories about Brian Clough, and finding people willing to share them, is a real testament to the research and dedication behind the show."

Marcus launched Green Jumper - a tribute to legendary football manager Brian Clough - in January 2021. It has registered thousands of downloads by listeners in more than 100 countries.
The pod has also held live events which have raised thousands of pounds for the types of good causes that Cloughie supported.
